The opportunity
A defining moment for family capital
Africa and family wealth are entering a shared inflection point.
Over the coming decades, Africa will absorb unprecedented demographic growth – becoming home to approximately 2.5 billion people, including 40% of the world's youth.
At the same time, an estimated USD 105 trillion will transfer within families globally, reshaping how capital is stewarded across generations.
These two realities belong together.
Africa is not a philanthropic obligation. It is an investable continent – and family enterprises are its core growth engine.
What Itura is
Itura Capital is an impact investment fund in formation, mobilising global and African family capital into Africa’s most scalable, community-anchored family enterprises.
We invest in Africa’s real economy – established family businesses with proven operations, deep local credibility, and the capacity to scale with the right capital and governance.
Africa’s future will be built by these enterprises. What has been missing is capital that understands their context, thinks in generations, and partners for the long term rather than extraction.
Our investment focus
We invest in profitable, purpose-driven African family enterprises operating in sectors where demographic growth, export potential and family ownership intersect:
Agro-processing and food systems
Mineral processing and value addition
Export-oriented services (including BPO and data)
Advanced manufacturing
Education and upskilling
Our focus is on enterprises that move Africa up the value chain, generate foreign exchange, and create durable employment.
Focus Markets
We invest where demand, deal flow, and execution capacity converge – in African markets where family enterprises are already building at scale.
Nigeria offers unmatched market depth and the continent’s largest base of family enterprises, with strong opportunities across agro-processing, healthcare, and energy.
Zimbabwe presents high-conviction upside, with a resilient manufacturing base and significant headroom for growth as capital re-enters the market.
Kenya serves as East Africa’s regional hub, combining disciplined private enterprise with leadership in renewable energy and innovation.
These markets form our initial focus, with expansion guided by proven execution and trusted local partnerships.
Technical Assistance Facility
A core pillar of the Itura platform is its dedicated Technical Assistance Facility (TAF) – legally and operationally separate from the fund and delivered in partnership with African Family Firms (AFF), the leading network supporting African family enterprises.
TAF provides non-dilutive capital and specialist support to prepare enterprises for scale, including governance structuring, feasibility studies, process design, environmental and social assessments, and investor readiness.
Enterprises co-invest 50% of TA costs, ensuring ownership, accountability and alignment.
The investor experience
Itura is designed as an experiential investment platform, not a passive allocation.
Family offices invest alongside peers and engage directly with enterprises through:
Co-diligence and site visits
Governance and impact workshops
Structured learning-by-doing
A trusted, values-aligned global peer community
Engagement is tailored to each family's objectives, balancing fund exposure with selective co-investment opportunities.
What differentiates Itura
